Sedation

At Simcoe Dental Implants, our Sedation Dentistry services are designed to provide a gentle and anxiety-free experience for our patients, leveraging the latest advancements in dental care.

We offer several levels of sedation to suit different needs:

  • Mild Sedation: This is typically administered orally or through inhalation using nitrous oxide, also known as laughing gas. It induces a relaxed state where you remain awake but feel calm and may have a reduced memory of the procedure. This option is ideal for patients with mild anxiety or those undergoing shorter procedures.
  • Moderate Sedation: Administered intravenously, this type of sedation allows you to be in a deeper state of relaxation. While you won’t be fully asleep, you’ll be less aware of the procedure and able to communicate minimally. This is suitable for patients with moderate anxiety or for longer dental procedures.
  • General Anaesthesia: For patients with severe dental anxiety or those undergoing extensive procedures, general anaesthesia is available. This form of sedation renders you completely unconscious, ensuring you feel no pain and have no memory of the procedure.

Before any sedation dentistry, a detailed consultation will assess your medical history and any medications you’re taking to determine the most appropriate sedation option. After the procedure, you will need someone to drive you home, as the effects of the sedation may take some time to wear off.

Our team will provide comprehensive post-operative care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.

Our goal at Simcoe Dental Implants is to make your dental treatment as comfortable and stress-free as possible. If you’re considering sedation dentistry, please contact us to discuss your options and schedule a consultation.
