Sedation

At Simcoe Dental Implants, our Sedation Dentistry services are designed to provide a gentle and anxiety-free experience for our patients, leveraging the latest advancements in dental care.

We offer several levels of sedation to suit different needs:

  • Mild Sedation: Typically administered orally or through inhalation using nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas). It induces a relaxed state where you remain awake but feel calm and may have limited memory of the procedure. This option is ideal for patients with mild anxiety or those undergoing shorter procedures.
  • Moderate Sedation: Administered intravenously, this type of sedation places you in a deeper state of relaxation. While you will not be fully asleep, you will be less aware of the procedure and able to communicate minimally. This is suitable for patients with moderate anxiety or for longer dental procedures.
  • General Anaesthesia: For patients with severe dental anxiety or those undergoing extensive procedures, general anaesthesia is available. This form of sedation renders you completely unconscious, ensuring you feel no pain and have no memory of the procedure.

Before any sedation dentistry, a detailed consultation will be conducted to review your medical history and any medications you are taking, allowing us to determine the most appropriate sedation option. After the procedure, you will need someone to drive you home, as the effects of sedation may take time to wear off.

Our team will also provide comprehensive post-operative care instructions to ensure a smooth recovery.

At Simcoe Dental Implants, our goal is to make your dental treatment as comfortable and stress-free as possible.
