All-on-6 Dental Implants in Tottenham — Our Preferred Full-Arch Solution
At Simcoe Dental Implants, the All-on-6 is our house specialty—the full-arch solution we recommend most often for patients who want maximum stability, longevity, and peace of mind.
The principle is similar to the All-on-4: a complete arch of fixed, non-removable teeth is anchored to implants placed in the jawbone. The difference is that six implants provide a broader foundation of support, distributing biting forces more evenly and reducing the load on each individual implant. For many patients, this extra margin of strength translates to greater long-term durability and the ability to support higher-strength prosthetic materials.
Why We Often Recommend Six Implants Over Four
While the All-on-4 is a proven technique and an excellent option in many cases, Dr. Filo has found that six implants offer meaningful clinical advantages for the majority of patients. With two additional points of anchorage, the prosthetic bridge is supported more broadly, which reduces stress on any single implant, provides a larger safety margin in case one implant encounters complications during healing, and supports longer prosthetic spans with greater rigidity.
The All-on-6 is particularly well-suited for patients with moderate bone density, those who want the strongest possible foundation for their investment, and cases where the arch is long or the biting forces are high.
How the All-on-6 Procedure Works
Like the All-on-4, the All-on-6 can often be completed in a single surgical visit with temporary teeth placed the same day. Dr. Filo uses CBCT scans and digital surgical planning to position all six implants for optimal bone engagement, precise spacing, and ideal prosthetic support. The posterior implants may be tilted to maximize contact with available bone, frequently eliminating the need for separate bone grafting. If you’re nervous about surgery, we offer IV sedation and general anesthesia so you can sleep comfortably through the entire procedure.
After a healing period of approximately 3–6 months, the temporary bridge is replaced with a final, custom-milled permanent prosthetic designed using CAD/CAM technology for a natural-looking, comfortable, and highly durable result. For patients with extensive bone loss, pterygoid implants can be incorporated to achieve a stable result without grafting.
